Application for 2015 SOaR™ Aviation Aerospace Science Summer Camp

IMPORTANT: Please complete this application and mail to SOaR™ Aviation Camp, Youth Learning Institute, 698 Concord Church  Road,  Pickens, S.C. 29671. For more information about this year’s SOaR™ Summer Camp, please contact  Kerianne Taylor, Assistant Director of Residential Programs, Youth Learning Institute, Clemson University, at (908) 472-4740 or keriant@clemson.edu.

Fifty 11th and 12th graders will spend a fun-filled, high-flying, academically-challenging week at Celebrate Freedom Foundation’s 2015 SOaR™ Aviation Aerospace Science Summer Camp.  The week-long residency program at Clemson University’s Camp Long in Aiken, S.C., will be held July 12-18, 2015.

Students will actually get to enjoy cross-country flights in a Cessna 172, flight simulations, field trips to Shaw Air Force Base and aircraft manufacturing facilities, courses on aviation history, physics and aircraft maintenance, and more!  Lodging, meals, and transportation to all camp activities are included.

The cost is only $395.00 per in-state student and $700.00 per out-of-state student.  Students who qualify on a “first-come, first-served” basis, essentially receive a scholarship valued at $1,050.00, because it actually costs $1,400.00 for each student who attends the summer camp.  Other summer camps, offering similar programs, charge $1,800.00 per student.

The summer camp’s curriculum is based on the Celebrate Freedom Foundation’s SOaR™ program.
